If you are already an Instructor and wish to become an APPI Instructor, please visit ’Join APPI by equivalence’ or contact the APPI secretary. You can also contact one APPI Master or Instructor, for your validation. He/She will help you to register with APPI.

• For new individual members: registration must be completed by an APPI instructor.
• For new instructors: registration must be completed by an APPI master instructor or online, in this case the instructor must be validated by a master instructor.
• All certifications/specialties have prerequisites, please pay attention to each course/specialty requirements. To apply for new certification, the candidate must validate the precedent level (except open sky pilot), this also applies to instructor levels.
• For validation requiring 2 different Instructors, please follow this procedure:
  • The instructor in charge registers the student "in progress" and informs the second instructor for double validation,
  • The second instructor completes the student’s validation,
  • In case of equivalence, the first instructor or the student must send a copy of the student’s logbook, together with all certified documents to the secretary for validation.
• To register a student: instructors must be teaching in a School and be registered by the school director. Instructors can teach in only one school at the time.
• When a new student is registered, the APPI permanent certification card will be issued a maximum of 45 days after the validation from the instructor and the fee payment is received. The exception if one of the qualifications is in progress, in which case the shipment of the card will be postponed.

Flight School/Fly Centre Registration Rules

• If you are a TANDEM PILOT you can register a one star APPI FLIGHT CENTER.
• If you are an INSTRUCTOR you can register an APPI SCHOOL.
• The numbers of stars for a flight centre or school means how many instructors work at the school.
  • One star for a flight centre managed by a tandem pilot.
  • Two stars for a flight school with one instructor.
  • Three stars for a flight school with two instructors.
  • Four stars for a flight school with three instructors.
  • Five star schools means a school with a master instructor (validated by APPI) plus an instructor.
• School managers have to choose if the membership fee for new students will be paid by the member or by the school, permission is given for each instructor.
